In life, in spiritual life, the less noise, the better.
What is noise?
Noise can be under different things.
The noise of dogs barking, so annoying for some,
Fine for others, depending on their tolerance for noise.
The noise of everything around us.
However, what I am referring to is noise,
On a deeper level.
The noise that comes from self congratulations.
We perform something good, that noise starts.
Patting ourselves on the back, and with it, ego enters.
The noise of worrying about things,
Before they happen and when they have yet to occur.
Or might never occur.
These noises cause anxiety, unrest and fatigue of mind.
The noise of a mind, never at rest.
Always criticizing, unhappy.
All these are noise.
The more we eliminate them,
The more peaceful life is.
In this area, less is more.
You always says, thoughts are things.
Thoughts are noise and the noisiest of all.
We cannot stop thoughts,
They come in, often like wild galloping horses.
With no means to rein them in.
When we manage to rein them in, then what blessings.
For that reason, Buddhism, mystics go into meditation.
To silence the mind and quell the mind.
Bringing it under control, under submission.
To a higher source, higher power.
Only a higher Source, Higher Power,
Can quell the mind.
Ra, what do you have to say to this?
A calm peaceful mind,
Is like water without a ripple.
Anything you drop in, the impact is felt and heard.
Throw a stone in the water, and a circle forms.
So also a calm peaceful mind.
Any thoughts that enter, you know.
It is awareness, cultivating that awareness.
Where you are able to know every thought entering your mind.
They waltz in and they waltz, always with your awareness.
Your house is then at peace.
Under your control.
You would not have unconscious actions,
Which you would blame on this or that.
You become responsible for every action you take.
Aware every action has an equal or opposite reaction.
Best of all and most effective of all,
A quiet controlled mind gets rid of all superfluous things.
Thoughts that are not necessary.
Thoughts building from paranoia, from the past,
Causing triggers and the like.
It is like a clean cleared uncluttered house.
Rid of everything superfluous.
Which could clutter the mind and cloud the thinking.
A clean, clear mind is a valuable asset for daily Living.
Do you not see the monks?
Engaged in meditation.
Their entire body posture bespeaks that peace inside.
They are one with their bodies and with everything around them.
There is peace, harmony, and unity within them.
How do they attain that?
By quieting the mind, the noise with due diligence to meditation.
They spend hours in meditation, living in silence and solitude.
You are able to create the same,
With your daily living, however busy.
Just create a temple, a sanctuary within you.
Where you can retire at will and meditate.
Where you can train your mind to gradually fall silent.
Where every thought becomes sparse and powerful.
For a sparse concentrated thought is hundred times more powerful.
Than multiple disperse thoughts, running aimlessly in your mind,
Bringing you little good and causing chaos within.
For instance, angry thoughts wreak havoc on your body.
Your body stiffen, blood rushes to your head.
Your heart pounds heavily, painfully.
Your entire body goes into a kind of arrest.
Which is of little help to your health, physical and mental.
Vengeful, jealous thoughts ravage your body.
Causing you to eat yourself up, literally.
You could fill the bile rising.
Your head bursting with rush of that energy,
Your entire mind and body are engaged in how best to hurt, and harm.
Engaging in negative thoughts.
Which hurt and harm yourself more than the other.
Silence, solitude, meditation,
Calmness, peace of mind.
These are what those enlightened seek and attain.
These also you should seek.
However busy and harried your life is.
It is always possible to stop, take a breath and slow down.
Slowing, stopping all thoughts.
It is always possible to blank your mind,
Concentrating with mindfulness as you eat an apple.
Or just take a few minutes break.
Remember however to breathe.
Breathing slows your breath, mind and everything.
Be well, dear ones.
