Hot noodle soup on a hot day in Sarawak

It is masochistic.

Eating hot spicy noodle soup

on a hot day in Sarawak.

But oh, it is so good.

There were tables and chairs placed inside the

coffeeshop.

But we chose the tables with stools placed outside the
shop.

Away from the hot fumes of cooking, it was cooler.

Especially with a ceiling fan whirling above.

Around us were people already slurping on their soup.

There is an art to sampling noodle soup,

Slurp it in.

It is noisy, driving those around you crazy with the

sound.

But it does make the experience so much better.

The wait was not long.

Before long, our hot spicy noodle soup arrived.

A spoonful of that delicious spicy soup,

and the soup cuts its hot fiery path

down the gullet into the belly.

Pick some noodle with the chopsticks

Slurping it in, followed by a big spoonful of hot soup,

and it is an experience made in heaven.

The perspiration soon started.

Beads of sweat breaking out on the forehead.

They flowed down the face, stinging the eyes.

Eyes start tearing.

Nose starts dribbling next.

It is so hot, the mouth automatically falls open,

taking in air to help cool the hot burning tongue.

The morning, until then cool, became very hot.

I was literally suffering, yet it felt so good.

As good as those runs by marathons.

Gruelling while engaged in it.

And once it is over, only the thrill of exhilaration

remains.

And that is the experience of eating hot spicy noodle

soup,

on a hot day in Sarawak.
