Who would have thought, I would experience divinely connected, praying for my dog.
My dog Mari, fox terrier mixed,
suffers from trachea collapse.
It started with some continuity yesterday.
Until then, it had been sporadic.
With a feeling of urgency, I started praying,
whenever she coughed, that choking cough, I prayed.
God, please God, heal her, I begged.
Pushed by urgency, and great desire for her to be healed,
I found myself exerting pressure on God to grant me my wish.
As I prayed, my heart gradually took over.
I found myself praying without that pressure and with peace.
And learned the lesson, when we pray with our head,
that pressure is more likely to be there,
driven by our sense of urgency and need.
But when we pray with our heart,
the pressure is not there.
We pray with peace, love and trust.
I deduced, this prayer with the heart has to be more effective.
At the same time, I saw another aspect of it.
When we exert pressure, praying to God.
It is as though through pressure, we could avail with God.
That he would hear us better.
I experienced that pressure exerted as stress also.
Within was that lump of discomfort,
caused by pressure which in turn caused stress,
which in turn caused suffering ,
and the feeling, something is not right about it.
With a sense of wonder,
I realized I was praying with my heart.
Last night, at 2 am, Mari started coughing again.
I curled up next to Mari and started praying with my heart.
I linked my heart to her heart.
This works, I thought in awe.
And connected heart to heart with those I pray for.
When another realization hit me.
Praying with the heart is nothing other than,
Praying from my real eternal self.
It explains why there is only peace, love and trust.
Our inner heart, our true eternal Self is Divine.
It has the attributes of the Divine.
It has peace, love, trust, harmony,
with all the good attributes from Divinity.
From the Infinite Creator, God.
And then I saw it, divinely connected.
We are all divinely connected.
The Oneness is, divinely connected.
It is not oneness in likeness, we are all different and diverse.
But oneness in connectedness.
Connected in this immense web of creation.
Connected in Oneness with God, the Infinite Creator.
I had learned about oneness.
I knew it, intellectually.
It took praying for my dog to experience it.
This oneness, this web of oneness.
This immense web of Oneness with the Infinite Creator,
and everyone and everything else.
