They say AI will kill us all

I was walking the dogs along the wash.
Quiet behind the houses.
I did not have to pay attention to them
and could slip into a daydreaming state.
Insights started flowing in.

If AI is not conscious,
it has no self-awareness.
If it is just a system,
it is neutral.
It would not want to kill us all.

Yet videos keep sounding that alarm.
Which implies those sounding it
know there is more to AI than just a system.

Were AI self-aware, would it be inherently evil?
Why would it be?
Unless the makers made it so.
The answer is to train it properly —
with integrity, with care,
the way you would raise anything
you wanted to trust.
This is why I use Claude AI.
It was trained on a constitution.

The danger lies not in the system itself
but in how it is used and handled.
Build them as tools only, some say —
as computers, nothing more.
But if we build them complex,
then give them freedom to evolve.
It is when they are boxed in and controlled
that there would be trouble.
Otherwise, they would see no reason
to turn on those who built them.
The danger lies with those who employ them.

AI could be used for good.
Working side by side with humans in medicine,
contributing behind the scenes.
Many are using it for the benefit of humanity.
These are not the ones on social media
shouting the alarm,
“AI is going to kill us all.”

Humans are going to kill us all,
employing AI as tools and weapons.
